Our showroom is a new place. No, not “in” a new place, it has transformed into a budding, new, cool, home accessory center.
I’ll explain.
Last year while at the carpet market, Dave and I found ourselves inexplicably drawn into showrooms that carried items other than carpet and rugs…… Yes, we were casting a wayward eye. We were flirting with other products. We were tempted to cheat on both broadloom and rugs and go dance with pillows and candles ;-0 We attempted to stop this dangerous thinking, but the draw was undeniable. Showroom after showroom dazzled us with temptations galore. Cool patterns and bright colors. Fun exciting products. The draw was powerful.
We came home exhausted but proud to claim we resisted and boasted about our product loyalty to our staff. 
They were not pleased. It turns out that we were all traveling along parallel paths of desire. So with this encouragement we began to cogitate, plan and dream. What types of products should we add? What companies would be perfect for us? Where in our already crowded showroom would we put all of this imaginarymerchandise?
Time passed and nothing happened (big surprise). Then, one day I got a phone message from a bedding company that had just added rugs to their product line.They wanted us to carry theirrugsandafter looking them up on the internet, I wanted to carry them too……but not their rugs (which have actually turned out to be fabulous) but I lusted for their sheets, turned pink cheeked over their pillow shams and bed skirts and crazy about their coverlets. What a linen hussy!
I passed the pictures around and everyone agreed….we wanted to see these items in person. Well, it was love atfirst sight! Tired of the same old boring products we are used to seeing at box stores and scornful of the prices from “upscale” stores, the Company C linens were fresh, colorful and priced so that you don’t need to take out a loan to buy them. Envis
ion sheets and pillowcases in paisley patterns, colored pink, green and blue or damselfly sheets in lime and sky. There are stripes, dots and dashes and fabulous embroidery. It is a linen lovers dream! All of their products are creative, good quality and different than you will see other places.

There was a wonderful shop in Madison, Wisconsin that carried these fabulous long lasting candles from a company called VOTIVO.
After the shop went out of business I was
in candle purgatory. Not wanting to spend
good money on what seemed to me to be
inferior products we toiled through last
winter candle-less. It was not nice to walk
into our house devoid of the essence “Red
Currant” (my previous personal favorite,
although now I am loyal only to “Tomato
Leaf”- yum). The candle choices were
varied, each one more scrumptious than
the other. Besides candles they have room
diffusers in a variety of scents that last
and last so your home always smells fabulous.
Hand soap, moisturizer, air freshener
and outdoor incense sticks round
out the temptation package. One other
asset is that the candles come in a thick,
often greenish glass container that makes
an excellent stem-less Italian wine glass.
Although many of us don’t burn candles
in the summer (why do you think that is?)
