Helpful tips for avoiding furniture sun damage:
- Accept the fact that some fading will occur. Keep drapes closed during the most direct and intense sunlight of the day, if possible. Using miniblinds will also help.
- Move furniture and rugs around regularly -- every month, if possible -- to keep any one piece of furniture from getting so much sun that the fading becomes obvious.
Unfortunately, the effects of sun damage and fading cannot be reversed.

Russell Martin Carpet and Rugs provides in-home upholstery cleaning. Our trained upholstery cleaning professionals will clean your furniture and work to remove spots using steam cleaning our method of choice. This method allows us to use very little cleaning solution and very little agitation. The heat in the water actually does the best job of cleaning. We do not normally use spot treatments as most common spots will come out without the additional spotters. Any spots we encounter while steaming, we will provide additional attention to for no extra charge.
